Chalío (Carlos Acosta) is a multidisciplinary artist from Mexico living in Holland. After a journey through theater, modelling, and a career in various multinationals, he ultimately found his artistic freedom in collages and monoprints.
Creativity is the common thread in his life, serving as a means to explore intensity, melancholy and absurdity without judgment.
His visual language is idiosyncratic, playful, and unconstrained. Inspired by Dadaism and Mexican folk art, Chalío creates worlds where simplicity and absurdity converge. His work moves between reality and imagination, inviting the viewer to construct their own meaning.
Chalío studied Performing Arts at El Foro Teatro Contemporáneo in Mexico City and later trained in professional photography at the Dutch Photography School (Nederlandse Fotovakschool) in Amsterdam, graduating with the project *Dutch Beauty*.
